About the Owner
Mike Lee - Owner, Operator
I was born and raised in Yardley, PA in 1960, one of 11 brothers
and sisters. My first job was at the Yardley golf course, pulling
carts up the hill at 17th hole and walking in the ponds for golf
balls. We sleded down that same hill in the winter and skated on
Afton lake. We played along the canal path , fishing and catching
frogs and turtles.
At 14, my father, Horace Lee, started me in the junk business --
he called it "Scrap-in". "You call, I'll haul" was
hand-painted on the side of his truck, I became his helper with "junkin'" cars.
We would pull the gas tanks and drain all of the fluids, then tow
them to the Trenton salvage yard to be crushed and recycled. We would
round up cardboard, metal, and pallets. All had a different price
per pound, and it was all recycled.
I learned a lot from my father back then. I know now that's
what we had to do to make ends meet with our big family. The Junk
Jeannie is named after my mother, Mrs. Jean H. Lee. Thanks, Mom!
